from all walks of life, who are
dedicated to helping each other
succeed through the exchange of information, services, mentoring, charitable actions,
shared experiences, friendship
and motivational support.
We support our community
and programs to benefit women and children. Through our annual fundraiser and special events, our
SMWL Foundation (Non-Profit 501 (c)(3) provides annual scholarships, small grants, and donations throughout the year.
We raise funds in a fun and unique way
Bachelor Auctions, Sock Hops, Win A
Mini Cooper, Comedy Clubs, and other premier events. In the past,
Women's League members have
come together to plan and host special events to support women and children within our community.
We encourage you
to join us
SMWL meetings, socials, and special events are generally held on the first Wednesday of each month. Membership is by invitation, and guests generally attend three meetings to be considered for membership. Contact us here today!

Donate to Help Southern Maryland Women's League and Toiletry and Company, Inc. Create 1,000 Period Packs for Our Community
Southern Maryland Women’s League is partnering with Toiletry & Company to create period packs for girls and women in our community who need them most, including underserved schools in Charles County and local organizations that support unhoused women.
These packs provide dignity, confidence, and basic hygiene for those experiencing their period at school or without access to supplies at home. Many people don’t realize that SNAP and similar programs don't cover menstrual products, making community support so important.
Each pack includes:

Sanitary napkins

Sanitary wipes

A discreet zipper pouch (easy to carry in a backpack or to the bathroom)

A positive message
We've created an Amazon Wishlist to make donating super easy — items ship directly to me, and we’ll assemble everything so packs are ready to distribute in March. Our goal: 1,000 period packs. Since 2009, the Southern Maryland Women's League has donated $69,000 to the College of Southern Maryland Foundation to support scholarships for students of single parents or students who are single parents themselves, and they demonstrate a financial need.
Over the past 20 years, our members have come together to raise and donate over $556,000+ to support programs, scholarships, organizations, education, resources, and special events supporting women and children within our community. We thank all members, past and present, and sponsors for contributing to this success.
