We Support...

The Southern Maryland Women’s League is an organization of women dedicated to promoting, strengthening, and supporting women and issues of importance through fellowship, education, service, and mentoring programs. The SMWL Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization, the funds raised by our annual event sponsors grants, scholarships, and programs in support of women and children within our community.

Each year, our members come together to plan and host a large fundraising event to support our 2-year Service Project, and to provide scholarships and grants for deserving 501(c)3 organizations. In the past 8 years, over 2,500 members, guests, and sponsors have come together to help us raise over $250,000 in support of our Foundation and its mission to serve women and children within our community.

 

Over the past 13 years, our members have come together to raise and donate over $325,000 in support of programs, scholarships, organizations, education, resources, and special events in support of women and children within our community. We thank all members past and present and sponsors for contributing to this success.

August 5, 2021 -- SMWL Members voted to donate $13,000 to the Children's Miracle Network in sponsorship of a transport ventilator for newborn babies and infants within our community.

November 7, 2014 -- At the Community Foundation of Southern Maryland's ninth annual Philanthropy Day Luncheon, the Southern Maryland Women was honored to have been inducted in the Community Foundation of Southern Maryland's Philanthropy Hall of Fame! 

 

Several general members and the Board of Directors were present to accept this prestigious award. Providing over $150,000 to support area non-profits, the entire membership shares in the success of our league and its support of many positive programs to benefit women & children within our community.

September  2014 -- The Mini-Cooper Fundraiser raised over $36,000 (after the expense of the car) for the SMWL Foundation and our annual charitable project the Angel's Watch Women's Shelter
